Episode 35 – Hi Haters IRL

Welcome to Episode 35 of Remotely Renee. Thank you for your support and for coming back each week to listen in.

Renee welcomes the 2-Lit Crew and starts the show talking about Jeff Bezos and his journey into space. The 2-Lit Crew are baffled by the trip and felt that Jeff should have given back to the people that made the journey possible.

This week the cast of the Remotely Renee decided to bring back Remote Reviews and view the movie Space Jam. The Crew likes the movie and dissects the similarities and differences between the old film and the new.

The Space Jam movies spark the debate of Lebron James hitting a billion-dollar status while still an active player. Of course, everyone agrees that this is a great accomplishment, but Snook doesn’t understand why people hate Lebron James. The debate flows into a discussion NIL again, and people are making big deals. They discuss Bryce Young (not Rebee’s nephew), the player from Alabama, and Mikey Williams, a high school student who can potentially make millions from NIL and haven’t play a game.

Happening IRL this week Caty Tedman Head of Partnerships at Dapper Labs, shares how NBA Top Shot got its start, how they have grown, and what we will potentially see in the future of NBA Top Shot. She talks about the new Quavo collection, and before she leaves, they open up an NBA Top Shot pack, and she breaks down what to look for to know the value of each pack.

Renee and the 2-Lit Crew talk about virtual horse racing. They discuss the pros and cons of virtual events, and Renee and the 2-Lit Crew discuss their future businesses in the virtual world.

Remote Roots, Snook asks whether the Olympic Sports are more of a sideshow than the main event.
